What’s Cooking

 

I cook from ingredients in my kitchen.  Sometimes I buy items for a dish and other times I look in the cupboard, refrigerator and freezer and come up with what’s cooking.  Here is an example.

MEATLESS CHILI No. 1 (I use what’s in the frig so each time is different)

My Ingredients this time are:

Pinto beans, Leeks, Carrots, Celery, Jalapeno Pepper (frozen and from my summer garden), Canned Tomatoes, Green Peppers, Salt, Pepper, Paprika, Cumin, Sugar and Oregano.

I season to taste after beans cooked for a couple hours this time.  But usually I add herbs and spices at the start of the slow cooker.

This is not an exact recipe because I want to give ideas.  My family really enjoyed this chili with crackers the first day and cornbread the second day.
